COMMENT PURPOSE
The purpose of inviting public comment through the Web site is to inform the project team members of issues that are important to the members of the public who write them, to raise questions about matters that are unclear, and to serve as a conduit for suggestions from the public on project matters. We are most interested in the content of your comments in order to make informed decisions about the design of the project. We read and consider every comment. Our web-based comment interface should be looked at as a suggestion box, rather than an official ballot box. We are interested in your ideas. Your help in observing this distinction and assistance in the design process will contribute to a better project.
TIMELINESS OF REPORTING COMMENT ON THE WEB SITE
The web site is not set up to instantaneously post incoming messages. Messages are reviewed to ensure that they comply with our Comment Acceptance Policy. The comment is then converted into a text file and sent to the Webmaster for posting. This process may take up to a week. We welcome comments and questions about the project from members of the public both by direct email to project team members and via the comments page of this Web site. We will post comments we receive unless we also receive a specific request not to. You may include this request in the body of your message. The comments sent to the Web site will be posted on the “What Others Are Saying” page. We will not post comments made anonymously, sent by proxy (written by someone different from the sender), or which contain rude or slanderous language. Where a reply is requested and contact details provided, a personal reply will be made by telephone or email.
PRIVACY POLICY
In order for your comment to be posted on our site, you must include personal identifiers with your message; no anonymous comments will be accepted. You may also choose to provide information for the project mailing list. These identifiers and mailing addresses will not be published with the comment message when it is posted. This information will be used solely by the project team for project purposes such as responses to questions, project statistics and project mailings. It will not be shared with anyone or used for anything but project purposes. The only information about you that is automatically collected is the name of the domain from which you access the Internet (aol.com, gci.net, etc.), the date and time you access our site, and the Internet address of the web site from which you linked directly to our site. This information does not contain any personal identifiers; it is part of a systems log file.
